When du'a feels unanswered

When du'a feels unanswered

There's a particular kind of quiet that settles in when you've asked Allah for something and the answer hasn't come yet. Not a no. Not a yes. Just silence.

It's tempting to read that silence as rejection. To wonder if you asked wrong, or prayed wrong, or simply aren't deserving of what you're hoping for.

But silence isn't absence. Allah hears every du'a the moment it leaves your lips, whether the answer arrives in this world, is stored for you in the next, or comes disguised as something you didn't ask for but needed more.

Sometimes the waiting itself is the answer. It teaches you to keep turning back, to keep asking, to keep trusting a plan you can't see the shape of yet. The companions waited years for things they never saw fulfilled in their lifetime, and their faith didn't waver because the answer wasn't the point. Their return to Allah was.

So keep asking. Keep raising your hands even when nothing seems to change. The asking is not wasted. It's a conversation that's still open.
